The Department of Endocrinology was founded in September 9, 2012. With the kind and sincere support of Rector Professor U Tint Swe Latt, Professor Daw Than Than Aye, former Professor and Head of Department of Medicine, opened Department of Diabetes and Endocrinology at the Right Wing of the third floor of Thidar Hall and she also acted as Professor/ Head of Diabetes and Endocrinology. Professor U Ko Ko is the first Professor/ Head of Department of Endocrinology since 2014 up to now.
First batche of doctorate courses [Dr. Med. Sc (Endocrinology)] was opened in 2014 and 11 students from first to fourth batches have finished for their doctorate degrees.
