Brief HIstory Of Department
Teaching of Mathematics at University of Medicine 2 , Yangon, was initially introduced and affiliated by Department of Mathematics, University of Yangon, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education.
U Pho Daung who was a lecturer of Mathematics Department, University of Yangon, was designated as head of the department from 1999 to 2005. Since his tenure, it has been conducted by full-time academic staffs at the Department, University of Medicine 2 ,Yangon.

Aim and Objectives
- develop logical thinking skills
- provide basic Mathematical Knowledge and Skills needed to apply to realworld problems later in their careers as practicing or research doctors.
- acquire a basic knowledge of mathematics which will later be useful in its application to medical sciences.
- develop skills in computing methods and techniques associated with information on practical work and research.
- achieve a habit of going through a process of logical thinking by training in mathematical reasoning and thus make correct decisions suitable to circumstances.
