Brief HIstory Of Department

Department of Dermatology, University of Medicine II, was established from August 2004, starting with the Out- patient department (only), at North Okkalapa General Hospital, with the transfer of Dr.Mya Sanda Khaing, from the Department of Dermatology, Yangon General Hospital. Since then, it is responsible for treating out- patients, in-patiens, and teaching of undergraduate and post graduate medical students.

1)  Master of Medical Sciences (Dermatology)

Participation as examiner in finals of 2nd Yr. MMedSc (Dermatology)Assessment of  Dissertations submitted for the degree.

 

2) Master of Medical Sciences (Medicine)

Assisted in teaching Dermatology with the aim :-

  • To provide  higher training of an advanced level of Dermatology
  • To provide  higher qualified clinicians
  • To upgrade the level of clinical competency, to keep abreast with international levels
  • Training in clinical, diagnostic, and therapeutic Dermatology.

 

3) Master of Medical Sciences (Pediatrics)       

Assisted in teaching Dermatology with the aim:-

  • To provide  higher training of an advanced level of Pediatric Dermatology

Final Part II M. B; B.S Institutional and Departmental Objectives.At the end of the course, the students should attain the following:-

 

a) Knowledge – To attain general knowledge about basic Dermatology, and common dermatologic disorders.- To attain knowledge about basic diagnostic methods and procedures involved in the diagnosis of common dermatologic disorders.- To demonstrate the acquisition of knowledge and skill of communication with patients, history taking, recognition and elicitation of basic dermatologic physical signs and symptoms.
